Dutch media today maintained that the “hero” President of Ukraine, Zelenskiy, is still in Kyiv (Kiev), even though Zelenskiy left Ukraine on day one of the war. He has been in hiding ever since, presumably in an American embassy, or perhaps a NATO base, in Poland, from where he conducts his little propaganda war up to and including pre-recorded Twitter videos. Zelenskiy, after all, used to be an actor who used to play the President before he was elected.
War is about lies and deception, we know, but deeper trouble lies ahead. The West’s completely irrational, fearful, and panicked response to Russia’s long-foreseen invasion of Ukraine proves there is something rotten in the Western psyche. Namely, after five centuries of colonial supremacy, Westerners cannot imagine losing.
The West’s sense of liberal superiority compounded with a strikingly delusional form of arrogance has gotten in the way of dealing with reality. The West, led by the United States, assumed it could simply make all of Russia’s former Soviet satellite-states into NATO allies yet shrieks of “genocide” and “war crimes” now that Russia has taken the bait to defend its geopolitical borders.
Indeed, in a way, the actions of the West forced or rather tricked Russia into escalating a conflict. But what Western media apparently weren’t prepared to report is that Russia is winning that conflict. A delusional President Biden mistakenly thought he could call on China to fight Russia, and even shared secret information, but the Chinese declined and passed the information on to Russia. China is not an ally of the West.
By now, Russian forces have completely surrounded several key cities such as the capital Kyiv, port cities, and other infrastructure. There is no way Zelenskiy could still be in Kyiv at this point, for if captured, the Russians would try him as a war criminal. That is if they wouldn’t shoot him on the spot. Rest assured, Zelenskiy is in a safe space.
Western media have put their worst on display. Western journalists seem incapable of verifying facts. They have to bend reality in order to maintain their pre-programmed dogma that “of course, Ukraine is winning, of course, Russia is bad, and of course, Putin is Hitler”.
No one in Western journalism seems to be sensible enough to grasp the Russian national traumas of Napoleon’s and Hitler’s invasions of Russia. Perhaps Russians also don’t want to be overthrown by a modern NATO alliance? Perhaps Russians are going to fight to the bitter end to secure their existence as a nation and as a (collection of) people?
Officially, the USA can’t get involved in “the war”. Ukraine isn’t a NATO member, not yet, and Russian forces haven’t attacked America. It means that if either the U.S. Army or NATO troops attack Russian forces, Westerners will be considered war criminals, not Russians.
So, for now, the West has responded with economic warfare, by cutting Russia off as much as possible, even though Europe, today, couldn’t survive without Russian gas and oil, and so these purchases have continued despite skyrocketing prices.
The way that American corporations cut ties with Russia paints a psychological instability that may originate from the American “one drop rule” which said that a white person with a family tree including a single Negroe ancestor five generations back is somehow so racially tainted, they may not be considered white nor included in whites-only clubs.
The economic sanctions have also silently proven to the whole world that American businesses cannot be trusted or relied on during a conflict. Even Germany knows that if the nation were ever to end up in a conflict with the USA, it will lose all American services, ranging from the Apple Store to PayPal to AirBnB to trading gold on American markets, to losing one’s credit cards from Visa or MasterCard, and so on, and so forth.
What national leaders, in their right minds, would now dare to continue to bet on American internet infrastructure? No one. No one will want to be dependent on American services any longer. Every nation on earth is already secretly planning its complete independence from American tech.
Visa, Amex, and MasterCard, for example, have cut ties with Russia, but you only get to breach trust with customers once. Already, Russian banks are implementing the Chinese UnionPay card system. Russian banks will then be able to cut all ties with Visa and MasterCard. These customers will simply never come back.
So who is really losing this war, then? Other corporations should be asking the same question. For every McDonald’s closed in Russia, a Russian eatery will take its place. For every PayPal account closed, Russians will flock to a homemade solution. For every listing taken down by Booking.com or AirBnB, Russians will find alternatives.
Meanwhile, energy prices in Europe and America have skyrocketed, and soon driving a car may become a luxury. The West is going to lose this war.
