The Abusive Relationship between Media, Government, and Populus

Let’s start with a strange comparison: Mother Media has been in an abusive relationship with Father Government for decades, but the Child People are their most impacted victim. No, I don’t see myself as a victim of media and government. The gepublichowever, lacks the means to fight back against the tyranny of a media-government marriage. And when the public do rise up, they are put down as “populist”.

As with many things governing human affairs, we can safely simplify society into its most human components. A house, after all, often seems to have a facade that looks like a human face: two windows to represent the eyes, the door as its mouth, and the roof as its haircut. Many traditional building styles echo our humanity. Modern architecture is the first evidence that already dehumanized leaders are now in charge of society.

For four years since 2016, “Mom” (the Media) has been telling the “Kids” (the People) about the evildoings of Daddy President (Donald Trump). It was an abusive relationship from the start, and journalists (the Eldest Daughter who sides with Mom) have played their treacherous part with vigor while the Eldest Son was dying in the Middle East to win wars for Dad’s Secret Lover “Israel”. (Mom’s secret lover is called the Secret Service.)

Some of the Kids decided to side with Dad. They saw through the constant stream of bullshit. Dad isn’t as bad as Mom makes him out to be. Some Kids sided with Mom, but she almost smothered them to death with fake love just to make the disloyal Kids jealous.

There’s no point in arguing with Mom or Dad. Their interests lie with themselves alone. They don’t really care about the Kids. Both care only about their own grandeur. Media and Government only care about the love and adulation they may win from the people. And taxes, because while Mom and Dad are fighting, the Kids have to run the Household (the State) on their own.

It has, thus, become a competition. Mom and Dad keep fighting each other to win the Kids’ loyalty and praise. The Kids just wish Mom and Dad would be in love again. Why do they always need another war? And why can’t the Media stop lying about Daddy?

As a result of the ongoing, long-term abuse the Kids have been suffering at the hands of Mommy Media and Daddy Gub’mint, some of the Kids have gone nuts. Some have committed suicide. Some are planning to. And some are preparing to lave the state. Some are welcoming in new Adopted Kids (immigrants) to replace the ones who committed suicide.

And then there are some Kids, the Revolutionaries on the Left and the Reactionaries on the Right, who both seek to overthrow the Marriage (Society) itself. Both feel they want to grow up. They no longer need Mom and Dad to look after them. Since they’re running the Household anyway, they might as well be its Head of State.

The Revolutionaries dream of armed struggle to get rid of Dad, so they can install a feminist regime run by Mom and the Daughters (Feminists). The Reactionaries dream of armed struggle to get rid of Mom, so they can install a patriarchal regime run by Dad and the Sons (the Military).

Just one bright, quiet kid was there to point out the obvious, namely that it was time for all the Kids to move out of the Household, and found new nations of their own.
