Do Normies Care about their Nations?
Yes, but Subconsciously
Outwardly, average citizens, a.k.a. ‘normies’, are driven by the mores of their society. That means they will publicly express the values they think they are supposed to express because they see everyone else around them do the same. But subconsciously, normies are very much driven by in-group preferences.
Asked what is more natural, “Multiculturalism or ethno-nationalism?”, Fellow at Cambridge Nathan Cofnas answered,
I'm not sure what "natural" means. Travel and information exchange used to be slow and difficult, so multicultural societies were rare. Now that largescale multiculturalism is possible, we see no evidence that people have an instinctual resistance to it.
We need to be weary of researchers who say, “we see no evidence […]” for that invariably means they didn’t look for it. Average people—normies—do have strong instinctual resistance to multiculturalism:
Every so-called diverse city in the West has its neighborhoods segregated by race, including Amsterdam, Malmö, Gothenburg, Brussels, London, Paris, New York, or Chicago, and so on, and so forth. There is no exception. Every big city in the West is racially and often also religiously segregated.
Normies selectively engage with the nightlife. We observe self-segregation by music style and/or lifestyle, and these happen to correspond to racial preferences. Trance parties, for example, draw in White crowds. Rap and R&B draws in black crowds. Muslim women normally don’t go out because their religion forbids it, though ethnic-Islamic styled parties may be where to find them. Another example: you’ll rarely ever see women with headscarves drinking a beer (or a glass of water) in any of Amsterdam’s pubs and café’s.
Places where we do find racial and cultural mixing are government-enforced places such as: education, government, and business hiring.
The only ‘natural’ (unenforced) place that dons most diversity is the public transportation system—it’s precisely the place where people rarely talk to strangers. And richer people with money will always self-segregate by getting taxis or driving cars.
There’s a class-based penalty for diversity as well; lower classes tend to be more forcibly mixed in mixed-race neighborhoods, whereas wealthier people do not mix.
Even where neighborhoods are mixed, friendships between people tend to be same-race! Indeed, reports from the Dutch ‘Social Culture Plan Bureau’ have repeatedly shown that people rarely form friendships across different races.
The one type of most common mixed-race relationship is between a white woman and a black man—and they have the lowest joint IQ. It means only the white women with the least intelligence feel attracted to black men, whereas higher educated White women will perceive black and brown men as servants, not as mates.
What does seem to be true, however, is that normie citizens are unaware of their subconscious in-group preferences. This condition of ignorance allows people to navigate the public sphere while pretending not to be racist.
In the end, if people weren’t conditioned (by the mainstream media) to favor open borders, nobody would care about foreigners. Note that I suspect that Cofnas is controlled opposition. All multicultural sonatas eventually collapse in race war once the money flows dry up, and people are forced to rely on familial ties (since strangers will kill them for food).
